How to set up your Clanrye Pipe Chanter Reed
The first step in setting up your Clanrye Pipe Reed should be to raise or lower the reed in the chanter until the notes High A and Low A are in tune with each other.

It should not be necessary to adjust the tuning bridle, however in some chanters should the F sound sharp, the bridles may be moved up the blades.

Having completed steps 1 and 2, the reed should be sounding in tune with the drones. However, many pipers like to fine tune the chanter at this stage by the use of plastic tape, which when positioned over the chanter finger holes will slightly flaten the pitch.
